All the guesthouses in Gyantse were closed to foreigners in May 1997, and the Gyantse Hotel ( Jiangzi fandian ) is the only hotel open to foreigners in town. The hotel is located a couple of hundred meters south of the main traffic intersection on the road to Shigatse. This two star hotel, with Chinese style outlook, has a gorgeous and spacious lobby. It's provides single and double room with attached bathroom, and there is also deluxe suite. Rooms over here are clean and comfortable, and hot water is supplied 24 hours a day. At the same time, the price is pretty high.
